Engenuity Privacy Policy

This privacy policy covers governs your use of any of Engenuity's online properties (e.g. web sites), software applications and mobile apps, referred to in the following as the Product.

User-provided Information

We may obtain information you provide when you access, install, or use the Product. If a registration (e.g. create new login, provide name or email) feature is provided, it is optional but you may not be able to use some of the features offered by the Product without such registration.

If you register with us, you will generally provide certain contact information such as your name, email address, an account name, and other data. We may use this information to contact you from time to time for several reasons.

We may need to contact you regarding critical service updates or required legal notices, such as if a security or privacy problem is identified in the Product. In such cases you may not opt out as long as we have your registration information.

We may also use the information you provide, including additional personal data such as age, gender, or geographical location, to provide you with important information, marketing promotions, and other opportunities which we feel may interest you. You will always be given the opportunity to opt out of such communications.

Automatically Collected Information

In some cases, the Product may gather certain information automatically. When such data cannot be used to uniquely identify you, this data collection may occur without your prior consent, but you will have the option (in your account or app settings) to disable the data collection. We may use such information for any purposes, but generally use it to improve our products based on the ways our customers use them. This type of information is generally treated as "bulk" statistical data and is often called "analytics" data.

Some automatically collected data may be used to uniquely identify you or your device (e.g. your IP address or device serial number). When the Product can gather such information, it will never do so without your prior consent, which may be given in various ways according to the circumstances. Some mobile apps request permission through features provided by the operating system, while others may provide a consent "dialog" at first start. Others may by default not collect such information but provide you with a Settings menu where you may enable it. In some cases, you may have fine-grained control over which specific data may be collected.

Sharing your Data

We will share your information with third parties only as described in this privacy statement.

We will disclose any data we have collected from you as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process.

We may share certain data with trusted partners provided that they have a compatible privacy policy which protects your personal information at least as strongly as we protect it.

We may share some data with advertisers and third-party advertising networks and analytics companies as described below under the Section entitled Advertising.

If Engenuity Corporation, or the Product is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our web site of any change that may affect the information which we have collected from you, and of your choices regarding the changes.

Advertising

If the Product is supported via advertising, it may collect data to help in serving ads. If you'd like to opt out from third-party use of this type of information to help serve targeted advertising -- which may reduce how useful such advertising is to you -- please visit the section entitled "Opting Out" below.

Opting Out and Unregistering

Your strongest form of opt-out is to uninstall the Product or, in the case of an online service, to delete your account and no longer access the service.

If the Product uses third-party advertising, you will be able to opt out of providing third parties with any personal information using the Product settings.

If you have provided us with your email address and you do not wish to receive any non-mandatory communications from us, you may email us to request this.

Security

We use "best practice" approaches to security to protect and maintain the confidentiality of your information as long as we have it. Such approaches may include physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards, including limiting access to employees and contractors who have a need to access the information, and who have signed confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements appropriate to their level of access to it.

Data Retention

We will retain user-provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter, or for as long as necessary to meet certain legal requirements. If you'd like us to delete any data that you provided or that the Product collected automatically, please contact us at privacy (at) engcorp.com and we will respond in a reasonable time. When you make such a request, be sure to provide specific details regarding which Product is involved and the nature of the data to which your request pertains. Please note that some or all of the user-provided data may be required in order for the Product to function properly, and we may be required to retain certain information by law.

Information Provided by Minors

Engenuity Corporation does not knowingly collect data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy (at) engcorp.com. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time upon confirmation of the request. When making such a request, please be aware that you may be required temporarily to provide additional personal data to substantiate your request, to verify your own identity and your authority over the data in question.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. If as part of your registration you have provided an email address, we will notify you of any changes to this policy via email. If you have not provided an email address, you are advised to check from time to time at http://www.engcorp.com/privacy.html for changes to the policy.

Engenuity Corporation runs services located both in Canada and the U.S., and our handling of your information may be covered by leglislation in one, or both, countries. By using the Product and providing information to us, you consent to the collection, storage, and processing of said information in both countries.
